Julieanne Yates Senior Audiologist

The absolute joy of a child’s happy smile and sharing in her clients’ communication journey is what Julieanne enjoys about being an audiologist. “I love the variety of work that allows me to see adults and children. Their diverse personal journeys and backgrounds are absolutely fascinating.”

With 20 years’ experience as an audiologist, Julieanne’s extensive career spans paediatrics, complex adults, and the indigenous communities. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Audiology from Macquarie University, NSW.

Prior to joining Can:Do Hearing in 2012, she spent 16 years working with a leading hearing services provider, which took her as far as Port Macquarie NSW, before returning to her home state – South Australia.

At Can:Do Hearing, Julieanne clinic interests include Paediatric assessments, Auditory Processing and researching the latest audiological techniques. She has a passion for educating children in hearing conservation and providing the right audiological solutions for her clients.

When not at work, she enjoys bike riding and visiting the beach with her husband and three children. A keen Adelaide Crows supporter, Julieanne’s heart is rooted with her family. “I was fortunate to grow up in a large family on a farm in country South Australia, I find it easy to relate to our country clients who travel to see us and I’m always interested in where they come from.”

Latest Project
Julieanne recently worked on the expansion of Can:Do Hearing’s Paediatric services, which is now successfully implemented at our Blackwood clinic. She is currently working on our Education Project, which is in collaboration with our Can:Do 4Kids and Deaf Can:Do team.

The project aims to support teachers in primary schools to teach kids basic AUSLAN, to develop their understanding of Deaf Awareness and promote social inclusion, and to help prevent hearing loss by promoting safe use of iPods and knowledge of hearing health and protection.
